Josh Thomas
Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist

When I first opened my massage therapy office in North Raleigh, NC, I believed bodywork had to be forceful to be effective. Though others saw some relief with painful techniques, I began finding lasting results through light touch. Now, I only use gentle touch therapy, which is intentional and powerful for nervous system healing.

LightSource Healing Arts reflects my dedication to authenticity and presence, inspired by my wife’s journey with Rooted Hair Shop. We create grounded, supportive spaces for clients, an essential element for intuitive healing. By being fully present, I help release tension with light touch, allowing the body to heal naturally.

Our Purpose

At LightSource Healing Arts, we provide a safe, accepting space for transformative healing. We act as healing facilitators holding space so clients may find peacefulness and self-discovery by awakening the connection between mind-body comfort and well-being.

We integrate Craniosacral Therapy and gentle Therapeutic Bodywork with Connection-Based Healing to address the needs of the body, mind, and spirit. By utilizing techniques that range from gentle, deep tissue bodywork to non-physical awareness-based healing, we aim to help you to foster a deep connection within yourself.

Our Journey

  • 2009

    First recognition and acknowledgement of Inner Guidance.

    Became interested in yoga.

    Met my wife, Alli.

  • 2012

    Blessed with the first recognition of who I am.

    Began “teaching” postural yoga.

  • 2013

    Took my first Bodywork training out of pure curiosity.

  • 2015

    Married my wife, Alli.

  • 2016

    Left my sales job.

    Went to massage school.

  • 2017

    Opened Melt Massage.

    Continued in-depth study of orthopedic massage and gentle trigger point work.

  • 2018

    Built a thriving sports and orthopedic massage office.

    Stopped teaching postural yoga.

    Began exploring other movement and awareness practices.

  • 2019

    Clients begin frequently reported feeling "energy" flowing through their bodies during sessions without this being my intention.

  • 2020

    The world shut down, and my son was born.

    Transformed by parenthood, allowing my purpose and Inner Guidance to grow louder.

  • 2021

    Evolved beyond sports massage to focus on only on gentle regional pain reduction bodywork.

  • 2022

    Began practicing Connection-Based Healing.

    Birth of my Daughter.

  • 2023

    Shifted my bodywork practice toward a CranioSacral Therapy approach.

  • 2024

    Melt Massage was retired.

    LightSource Healing Arts born.

    CranioSacral Therapy became my primary modality.
